Barbara (Barb) Lightburn

Founder and Director

Barbara Lightburn is the Founder and Director of My Ability Pathway (MAP), an organisation built on the belief that people with disability deserve to live a life of their choosing – connected, purposeful, and enriched by what they love.

With more than 30 years’ experience across community services, economic development, and regional growth, Barbara brings together deep sector knowledge and heartfelt leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Dispute Resolution, and postgraduate studies in Positive Behaviour Support.

Barbara’s leadership philosophy is grounded in emotional intelligence and hands-on collaboration. She walks alongside her team – not ahead of them – building a culture that is Helpful, Active, Connected, Adaptive, and Supportive.

Under her direction, MAP has become known for delivering high-quality NDIS supports while fostering economic stability, personal growth, and wellbeing for both clients and employees.

Barbara is a courageous and reflective leader who believes that the way we work is just as important as the outcomes we deliver – and that clarity, compassion, and curiosity are the true markers of leadership maturity.
